Deputy Program Manager

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to assist with all post-delivery support activities for multiple ground and naval radar systems.  Support activities commence after the system hardware is delivered and include, but are not limited to, set-to-work, acceptance testing, on-site support, training, and responding to on-going requests for support as part of executing long-term sustainment contracts.  The Deputy Program Manager will coordinate these activities with Saab Program Managers, Saab engineers and/or field technicians, and customers.

In addition, the Deputy Program Manager will assist with spare part and repair activities for previously delivered radar systems. The Deputy Program Manager will assist with management of cost, schedule and quality metrics for all of the above activities.

To be successful in this role, you must use your experience with program/project management principles and process improvement to influence the teams you work with to resolve a variety of issues. 

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with customers and internal Saab teams.

  • Assist with management of Basic Order Agreements and Task Orders between Saab and customers.

  • Support execution of task orders with appropriate Saab personnel including coordination of field resources and trip reports.

  • Track and report status of spare and repair orders.

  • Coordinate with Depot Manager on repairs and assist with prioritization.

  • Develop and manage simple budgets and schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with Saab SOPs.

  • Interface with Contracts, Finance, CM, QA, and Purchasing organizations across multiple Saab sites, including international locations.

    Compensation Range: $75,800-$94,800

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Business, or related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience.

    • Knowledge of Military Logistics/Maintenance principles desirable.

    • Experience working in a team environment.

    • Experience in Project Management.

    Required Skills:

    • Understanding of DOD acquisition process.

    • Proficient in Microsoft office products (Word, Visio, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).

    • Highly organized, ability to multi-task, strong time management skills, and ability to follow-up on action items and requests in a timely manner.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.

    • Focus on quality and improvement with understanding of continuous improvement concepts and principles.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills.

    • Comfortable working with various levels in the organization.

    • Ability to influence cross functional teams without direct authority.

    • Willingness to travel up to 10%, domestic and international.

    • Capable of obtaining a Secret level clearance.
